Description
The Heartleaf LHA Moisture Peeling Gel from ANUA is a gentle yet effective exfoliating gel designed to refresh the skin by removing dead-skin build-up, excess sebum and impurities inside pores — all while delivering moisture and calming support. Formulated with a milder derivative of salicylic acid (LHA), refined cellulose beads and soothing heart-leaf (Houttuynia cordata) extract, it targets texture irregularities and dullness without harshness. The lightweight gel texture glides on, gently buffs the skin, and rinses off to reveal smoother, clearer and more comfortable skin.
Size: 120ML
Skin Type
Normal skin – ready for gentle exfoliation and smoother finish.
Combination skin – helpful in the T-zone where oil/sebum and pore build-up tend to occur.
Oily and congested skin – the LHA + cellulose combination helps address excess sebum and texture.
Sensitive or redness-prone skin – the “moisture” and “heartleaf extract” aspects support soothing and barrier care
Key Benefits
Gentle chemical + physical-hybrid exfoliation: The LHA (Capryloyl Salicylic Acid) works like a mild BHA to clear pores and smooth the skin surface, while cellulose beads provide light buffing.
Smoother texture & unclogged pores: Helps reduce the appearance of roughness, blackheads/whiteheads and excess oil build-up.
Moisture support & soothing: With hyaluronic acid (sodium hyaluronate) and heart-leaf extract plus allantoin, it supports hydration and calmness rather than leaving the skin feeling stripped.
Suitable for sensitive skin: Fragrance-free (according to sources), low-irritation formula designed to minimise stinging/peeling while still delivering results.
Brightening effect: By removing build-up and dead skin it can help your complexion look fresher, smoother and more radiant.
Key Ingredients
Capryloyl Salicylic Acid (LHA) – A lipophilic (oil-friendly) derivative of salicylic acid; gently penetrates pores, helps exfoliate dead skin/sebum, but with reduced irritation compared to standard SA.
Cellulose – Natural cellulose beads help mechanically draw and lift dead skin cells and build-up without harsh scrubbing.
Houttuynia cordata (Heart-leaf) Extract – Known for anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and soothing properties; supports calming of skin.
Sodium Hyaluronate – Hydrating humectant to support moisture retention and plumper feel.
Allantoin – Soothing agent that helps reduce irritation, good for skin recovery.
BioDtox complex (Aloe Ferox Leaf Extract + Brassica Oleracea Italica (Broccoli) Extract + Bioflavonoids) – Described in some sources as aiding the removal of dead skin inside pores and boosting clarity.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding Safe
No — the Anua Heartleaf LHA Moisture Peeling Gel is not considered pregnancy- or breastfeeding-safe, because it contains LHA (Capryloyl Salicylic Acid), a derivative of salicylic acid (BHA), which is recommend avoiding or limiting during pregnancy and breastfeeding due to potential systemic absorption risks and skin sensitivity.
How to use
After cleansing, apply an adequate amount of the peeling gel. Avoid the eye and lip areas.
Application method:
For oily/combination skin: apply to dry hands and then massage onto dry skin for about ~1 minute.
For dry or sensitive skin (or compromised barrier): apply to damp skin and reduce massage time.
Massage gently in circular motions until you feel the gel “roll” or “pill” (cellulose beads lifting dead skin) — usually <1 minute.
Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. Pat your skin dry.
Follow with soothing/hydrating skincare: especially important for you — apply a hydrating toner/essence, barrier-repair cream (with ceramides, fatty acids) and if needed your acne-safe treatment.
Frequency:
For normal to oily skin: up to 2× per week.
For sensitive, dry or weakened-barrier skin (your case): Start with once per week or once every two weeks, monitor skin response, then adjust.
Sun Protection: Since exfoliation increases skin sensitivity, ensure you apply daily broad-spectrum sunscreen (especially important for you).
Avoid combined usage: On the day of exfoliation, avoid layering with strong actives (e.g., retinoids, strong vitamin C) or treatments that may irritate. Given your barrier is compromised, stick with calming follow-up.
