Description
The Azelaic Acid 3 Cica Skin Clarifying Toner from ANUA is a soothing, lightweight toner-treatment designed to calm redness, refine texture, and gently support blemish-prone and sensitive skin. Formulated with 3% azelaic acid, a 7-Cica complex (multiple centella/cica-derived ingredients) and glycyrrhizic acid, the toner aims to visibly soothe irritated skin, improve roughness and help keep pores clear of excess sebum.
Its gel-liquid texture absorbs quickly and supports a comfortable finish — well-suited as the next step after cleansing in your skincare routine
Size: 250ML
Skin Type
Normal to combination skin — especially where pores, texture and mild blemish issues exist.
Oily and blemish-prone skin — the azelaic acid helps address excess sebum and pore congestion.
Sensitive or redness-prone skin — the inclusion of cica/centella-complex and calming actives make it tolerant to irritation.
Skin recovering barrier damage — as part of a gentle routine.
Key Benefits
Clarifies and smooths skin texture — 3% azelaic acid helps reduce build-up in pores, supports evenness of skin surface and refines texture.
Soothes irritation and redness — The 7-Cica complex plus glycyrrhizic acid help calm visible irritation and support comfort in sensitive/irritated skin.
Balances pores and sebum — By addressing excess oil/pore congestion, it helps refine the look of pores and manage mild blemish risk.
Lightweight, gentle everyday treatment — The toner texture fits easily into AM/PM routines and pairs well with hydrators + barrier-care steps.
Supports skin that’s recovering or prone to redness — For your specific context (having a damaged barrier and occasional cystic acne), this toner offers a good combination of active support + calming benefit.
Key Ingredients
Azelaic Acid (3%) – Well-known for its multi-functional benefits: anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial (for P. acnes), keratolytic (clears pores), and brightening via tyrosinase inhibition.
7-Cica Complex – A group of centella/cica/derived extracts (e.g., Centella Asiatica, Asiaticoside, Asiatic Acid, Madecassic Acid) that soothe irritated skin and support barrier resilience.
Glycyrrhizic Acid – A derivative of licorice root, helps calm skin and support smoother texture and visible redness reduction
Additional soothing/hydrating support – Includes humectants (eg. glycerin, propanediol) and extracts to help comfort skin while the azelaic acid works.

How to use
After cleansing, apply a moderate amount of the toner to a cotton pad (or your palms) and gently sweep or pat it across your face (and neck if desired).
Gentle spot-focus: If you have particular areas of redness, pores or texture concern (e.g., T-zone, cheeks), you may lightly pat extra toner there.
Follow with hydrating/repair steps: Because your barrier is compromised, after toner apply a hydrating serum/essence, then a ceramide-rich cream or barrier-repair moisturizer.
Frequency: Daily use is possible (AM &/or PM) as the formula is meant for everyday gentle clarifying. But for your barrier condition you may begin once per day in the evening for first week, then consider morning use if well tolerated.
Sun protection: If used in the morning, ensure you apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen as the next step (azelaic acid may increase skin turnover/awareness of sun exposure).
Cautions for barrier-weak skin: On days when your skin feels very flaky or irritated, you may skip the toner or use it only in less-reactive zones. Keep the rest of routine ultra-gentle (hydrator + barrier cream) to support recovery.
