Description
The 147 Barrier Cream from DR.ALTHEA is a rich, deeply nourishing moisturizer designed to restore and reinforce the skin barrier, deliver multi-layer hydration, and soothe sensitive/flaky skin. The “1-4-7” concept refers to 1 key barrier strengthening ingredient (guaiazulene), 4 types of ceramides, and 7 types of hyaluronic acid.
It’s formulated for dry, sensitive or barrier-compromised skin (including skin that’s flaky, irritated or recovering from actives) — delivering a “rich yet breathable” finish without grease.
Size: 50ML
Skin Type
Normal to dry skin — especially if your skin feels tight, flaky or lacks comfort.
Sensitive or irritated skin — those with a weakened barrier (e.g., you mentioned flaky dry skin + occasional cystic acne) will benefit from barrier-repair focus.
Skin prone to environmental stress, over-exfoliation or actives which compromised the barrier — this cream helps restore resilience.
Nights or seasonal changes when skin needs extra nourishment.
Key Benefits
Barrier reinforcement & protection — With ceramides, squalane, cholesterol and guaiazulene, the formula strengthens the lipid barrier, reduces moisture loss and defends against irritants.
Multi-layer hydration — The inclusion of 7 kinds of hyaluronic acid (different molecular weights) ensures hydration penetration across layers of skin, plumping and smoothing.
Soothes irritation, calms skin — Ingredients like avocado extract, artemisia (mugwort) leaf extract, guaiazulene (chamomile-derived) help calm redness and reduce sensitivity.
Rich texture yet breathable finish — While deeply nourishing, user reviews say it doesn’t feel heavy or greasy, which is important for nightly recovery.
Vegan & fragrance-minimal friendly — The brand emphasises minimal irritants; the formula is positioned for sensitive skin.
Key Ingredients
Guaiazulene — a chamomile-derived ingredient that supports the barrier, calms irritation and gives a gentle blue-hue to the texture.
Ceramide NP, Ceramide AS, Ceramide AP, Ceramide NS — four key ceramides that replenish barrier lipids, improving skin resilience and moisture retention.
Hyaluronic Acid & its derivatives (Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer, etc.) — seven hydrating forms to ensure deep plus surface hydration.
Panthenol (Pro-Vitamin B5), Squalane, Cholesterol — supportive barrier-lipid and humectant ingredients.
Avocado Fruit Extract, Artemisia (Mugwort) Leaf Extract, Gardenia Florida Extract — botanical extracts to calm, soothe and protect stressed skin.

How to use
After cleansing and applying your toner/essence/serum, apply the 147 Barrier Cream as your final moisturiser (morning and/or night).
Use a pea-to-almond sized amount (or as needed) and gently smooth over face (and neck if desired). Because your barrier is fragile, apply with light patting rather than rubbing.
Because this cream is rich, you might prefer using it at night or on days when your skin needs extra nourishment. If your T-zone is oily, you can apply slightly less there and more on the dry/flaky zones.
Support Night Routine: On nights when your skin is particularly flaky or stressed, you can layer a thin occlusive (if your skin tolerates it) after this cream, or simply use this cream as your major step.
Daytime Use: If used in the morning, follow with broad-spectrum sunscreen (very important especially if you’ve used other actives in your routine).
Texture Tip: The cream is rich but described as non-greasy. Still, if you prefer lighter feel during hot/humid days, you can apply a smaller amount or apply mainly on dry zones (cheeks/jawline) and a lighter moisturiser on T-zone.
For your condition: Given your occasional cystic acne, flaky patches and barrier damage: On nights after strong actives/exfoliants, use this cream alone (skip other heavy treatments). On calmer nights you can use this cream plus your usual actives (that are safe for your pregnancy/breastfeeding status)
